Into the mountains with an overnight stay. Shepherd's life (all inclusive)
About this experience
Just 2 days in the mountains of Uzbekistan away from tourist routes - and you will feel like living another life. On the first day, you will visit high mountain passes and plateaus, as well as take a walk in an atmospheric village with a water mill and a mini hydroelectric power station. On the second day, we will start by herding cattle with the shepherds! You will immerse yourself in the life of the 'mountain philosophers' and see the landscapes in a new light.
What to expect
Day 1
- Our path will lead through two passes on a steep and beautiful road, taking 5 hours. The first pass is Takhta Karacha at an altitude of 1610 meters. You will see the place where a film with Goyko Mitich was shot, the mountain bazaar, and the Plateau of Demons. And the second pass is even more picturesque! Here you will admire the reservoir and red mountains.
- Lunch in the mountain village of Gelon. At an altitude of 2300 meters, you will enjoy dishes of the national cuisine, after which you will explore the village itself with its water mill, mini hydroelectric power station, blacksmith's workshop, and artist's house.
- Dinner. In the evening, you will have dinner with the locals (you can participate in cooking if you wish).
Day 2
Early in the morning, around 8 o'clock, we will go herding cattle with the shepherds. Before lunch, we will graze animals on the mountain pastures. We will prepare breakfast and lunch ourselves. After lunch, we will descend from the mountains and head back to Samarkand.
