What to Expect
Atmospheric mountain journey
Our path will take us through a picturesque pass with an ascent to an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level. You will discover breathtaking panoramas of the surroundings, with stops at the most impressive points for photo sessions. I will show you the cave-grotto of Teshik-Tash, where the movie 'Apache' was filmed. Along the way, you will observe the unhurried life of rural residents who use donkeys instead of vehicles (you can also ride them yourself). You will also visit a mountain bazaar, where you can pick up some local products - herbs, spices, mountain tea, honey, and much more.
Authentic dish Tandoori Meat
At the pass, you will visit the famous cafe 'Katta-Tash', where they will prepare for you a genuinely mountain dish, for the sake of which people come here from all over the surrounding areas. For decades, the best tandoori meat has been prepared precisely here. You will get acquainted with the interesting cooking technology of one of the gastronomic symbols of Uzbekistan. And then, you will taste the meat baked in a special way in the oven or in an underground pit.
About Timur - in his homeland
We cross the pass - and we are in the homeland of the legendary Central Asian ruler, in Shakhrisabz, which translates from Persian as a 'green' or 'flourishing' city. Near the ruins of Ak-Saray, or the 'White Palace', I will reveal the story of the only preserved portal of Amir Timur's residence. I will show you the monument to Timur and the Friday mosque Kok-Gumbaz. In the complexes of Dorus-Saodat and Dorus-Tilavat, you will visit the mosques and the mausoleum of Timur's father, his sons, and spiritual mentors. You will visit the mausoleum where the ruler was supposed to be buried according to his will. And all this time, you will be accompanied by stories of the famous campaigns of the conqueror, with legends about his life.
Additionally, in the city, I will definitely take you to the gallery of a famous Uzbek restaurateur-artist, where many remarkable paintings are exhibited, deserving attention.
