The origins of Iceland in the Þingvellir National Park
You will visit a place famous not only for its stunning landscapes but also for its ancient history - in the 10th century, the oldest parliament in the world, the Althing, was founded here. It was in the Þingvellir National Park that the roads of all regions of Iceland converged, crucial decisions in the state's history were made, and Icelandic culture essentially originated. And the unique landscapes of Þingvellir will amaze you with giant rifts - ruptures in the earth's crust formed due to the divergence of the North American and Eurasian lithospheric plates at this point.
Journey to the valley of geysers
Making a stop at the lake formed in the crater of a volcano, we will head to the Haukadalur valley - one of the five existing geyser fields in the world. Here you will see fantastic Icelandic landscapes enveloped in steam and observe numerous geysers with pristine water, including the famous Great Geyser and Strokkur, which erupts jets of water up to 30 meters high every 10 minutes! And after that, you can appreciate the dishes of the local cuisine and try the famous kjötsúpa (meat soup) made from Icelandic lamb.
The power of the Gullfoss waterfall
The culmination of the journey will be the Golden Waterfall - one of the most famous natural landmarks in Iceland, located on the edge of a mountain range and formed by two cascades. Walking along the path through the watery mist, we will find ourselves at the natural viewing platform of Gullfoss. Here you will experience the titanic power and beauty of nature, watching as the stream of azure-blue water rushes with a deafening roar along the mountain ridge and plunges from a height of 32 meters.
