About this experience
We will travel along a circular route that encompasses the most picturesque sights of Iceland. This includes the Golden Waterfall - Gullfoss, Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site (some scenes of 'Game of Thrones' were filmed here), and the legendary geothermal valley of Haukadalur. Get ready for breathtaking views!
What to Expect
Our route starts and ends in Reykjavik. The main highlights include:
- Kerid volcano crater with a lake
- Gullfoss waterfall - to witness its power, we will ascend to a natural viewing platform
- A farm with authentic Icelandic horses that you can feed
- Haukadalur geothermal valley - home to Iceland's most famous geysers - Strokkur and Geysir. The latter actually gave the name to all geysers in the world!
- Thingvellir National Park and the rift valley. This place is the cradle of Icelandic culture, where the first meeting of the Icelandic parliament - Althing - took place in 930 AD. It is the heart of Iceland located in a rift valley. You will see the cracks formed by the divergence of continental plates and even walk through them! By the way, some scenes of 'Game of Thrones' were also filmed here.
Organizational Details
- The tour is conducted in a Tesla Model Y 2023. Alternatively, it can be done in a BMW X5 2022 with an extra charge of 230€ for two people and 115€ per person for groups.
- There will be restaurants along the way where we can stop. Meals are paid based on the menu.
- I will pick you up from a convenient location in Reykjavik and drop you back after the tour.
