About this experience
We will take a stroll along the Theodosian Walls, built in the 5th century AD as a marvel of engineering. For a long time, access to the walls was restricted, but today they are open for exploration! We will examine seven towers and the Golden Gate, visit the Museum of Roman Mosaics, and delve into the history of the city from the time of Emperor Constantine the Great to the era of Mehmed the Conqueror.
What to Expect
The Theodosian Walls, erected by Emperor Theodosius II. The fortress withstood attacks from barbarians, Arabs, and crusaders, lasting until the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453.
We will explore the seven towers of the walls, see the Golden Gate of Constantinople, and admire the panoramic view of the Sea of Marmara.
Church of Saint Paraskevi, considered the patron saint of weavers, seamstresses, and travelers. Different cultures celebrate her day at different times and with varying customs – we will discuss the local traditions.
