I will show you the houses of Barcelona where strange things happen - lights suddenly turn on, ghosts appear, sinister spirits scare children and their parents.
Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, has existed for over two thousand years. The city has seen Romans, Visigoths, and Moors... Here lived the rich and the poor, kings and servants, witches and the Inquisition. Understandably, such a rich history could not leave without a trace! With each passing century, more and more unclean spirits - ghosts and apparitions - appeared in the city.
Program
We will visit a palace where a brutal murder took place two centuries ago. We will stop at a crossroad where passersby sometimes see an apparition of a praying girl kneeling before a hanged young man. I will tell you the real story behind this haunting vision.
Our route will take us to a square where it's better not to light a fire - it may summon the ghost of a local artist. We will walk down a street where it's not recommended to let young children out of sight - they might be taken by the ghost of the Barcelona vampire. We will peek into a well from which a girl, drowned several hundred years ago, occasionally emerges.
We will see a gargoyle on the wall of the Gothic Quarter, which, according to local legend, comes to life under a full moon and causes trouble for passersby. We will look at the enchanted skull and remove any bad spells from you with the help of a turtle's shell. I will also reveal where the ghost of the great architect Antoni Gaudí resides today and how you can catch a glimpse of him.
