About this experience
During this road trip, you will immerse yourself in the culture of the colorful country of the South Caucasus, discover its history, and wander through Tbilisi, Mtskheta, and Kutaisi. We will visit high-mountain villages, explore ancient temples, climb mountain peaks. You will taste the famous Georgian cuisine, visit the 'birthplace of khinkali,' and of course, try the wine, and if desired, swim in the sea. We will help you feel Georgia with your heart, soak up its enchanting atmosphere, and fully experience it.
Organizational Details
Participation with children from 8 years old is possible. The program does not have a difficulty category. Throughout the route, we will either travel by transport or on foot. Route changes may occur due to weather conditions or group dynamics. Decisions made by the guide are final and not subject to discussion.
For entry into Georgia, Russian citizens need to have fresh PCR test results or a vaccination certificate with any type of Covid-19 vaccine.
Citizens of Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine do not need a visa. Only a valid passport is required.
You can bring any currency with you (rubles, dollars, euros). Upon arrival, we will exchange money for lari. There is no need to exchange anything in Moscow!
Approximate exchange rate: 1 lari = 22 rubles.
During the trip, we will travel on rented minibusses. In addition, we will also travel by train: on the 5th day (2nd class car, 6 hours on the way) and on the 10th day (2nd class car, 3 hours). Total mileage: by bus ~ 850 km, by train 590 km.
How to get to Georgia: 1. By plane to Tbilisi - there are no direct flights, we fly with a layover in Minsk, Yerevan, Istanbul. 2. By plane to Vladikavkaz, then by taxi to Stepantsminda. The end of the program on the 10th day of the tour at the Central Railway Station in Tbilisi at 13:30. We recommend purchasing return tickets for flights departing from Tbilisi after 16:00. There is a budget option to depart from Vladikavkaz in the evening of the next day after the end of the tour. We recommend flights after 17:00-18:00.
According to the entry rules to Georgia, you must have medical insurance for the entire period of stay in the country. Be prepared to provide it at the border crossing.
Insurance is not included in the travel cost. You arrange it yourself in an insurance company of your choice (tourist, for foreign trips, without additional coefficients). The insurance must cover medical expenses for emergency outpatient services from $5000 or €5000 and hospital treatment expenses from $30,000 or €30,000.
