What to Expect
The Old Town - History and Legends
You will see the most interesting places in the historical center: the house of the medieval executioner, the world's first bank, magnificent churches, Rolli palaces, ancient gates, and the building where Columbus spent his youth. You will walk along the famous streets of Pre and del Campo, hear the bloody history of Pisan Square, and uncover the secrets of the city's fortifications. I will also tell you how Genoa became a welcoming residence for kings and nobles from all over the world and where the local nobility got incalculable wealth.
Genoa at a Glance
You will stroll along the city's main shopping artery, admire the arched architecture and the Monumental Bridge. You will see the buildings of the main train stations and the central squares of de Ferrari and della Vittoria. Furthermore, you will be impressed by the view of Genoa from a bird's eye view and walk around the Old Port. I will share recommendations from a local: which museums and palaces to visit, which local restaurants to visit, and which dishes to try.
The Enchanting Boccadasse Quarter
Finally, I will show you one of the most colorful corners of Genoa - Boccadasse. You will see a picturesque landscape with colorful houses descending to the sea. If you wish, you can taste ice cream, Aperol Spritz, or Negroni at a popular local establishment.
Organizational Details
- It is more convenient to reach the Boccadasse district by public transport (10 minutes). The ticket price is 3-5 euros.
- Optionally, we can make a stop for coffee in a historic bar or for an aperitif in a cocktail bar. Food and drinks are not included in the tour price.
- We can additionally include the Nervi district with villas surrounded by greenery, the Anita Garibaldi promenade, and the picturesque town of Bogliasco in the tour. Details can be clarified in a personal message.
