Villa Collette - Renoir's home and workshop
Here Renoir and his family lived for more than 10 years. I will tell you about the construction of the house and garden, and explain why the artist chose this place.
You will find copies of famous paintings in the garden in the places where they were painted. Explore Auguste's workshop and his house. See the lifestyle of the early 20th century, original furniture and decor, a collection of Renoir's works, and paintings dedicated to him by his friends.
City tour, artists' homes, and ancient castle
Cagnes-sur-Mer is located atop a hill, offering magnificent views of the azure sea, flowering valleys, and olive groves. You will find the homes of Modigliani, Soutine, and Klein and admire the elegant Baroque interior of the local church.
Visit the medieval castle of the noble Grimaldi family with colorful frescoes and family crests. Learn about the history of olive oil in France and see the equipment for its production. And see the painting collection of the extravagant singer Suzy Solidor, which she bequeathed to the city.
