The Singing Dune is one of the most picturesque and photogenic places in Kazakhstan. Located in the Altyn-Emel Reserve, it will impress you with its scale and amazing panoramas. Fantastic landscapes
The Singing Dune is a giant sand mountain as tall as a nine-story building and three kilometers long. We will drive to it as close as possible by jeep, after which you will take a stroll along the golden slopes and ridges. If desired, you can climb to the very top! You will have a wonderful view of the surrounding picturesque places: sands, steppes, and the Ili River.
Interesting facts
The Singing Dune is not called so by chance. In dry weather, the sands produce a sound similar to an organ melody. If we are lucky, we will hear it! You will uncover the secret of this natural phenomenon and understand why the dune doesn't 'sing' on rainy days. Besides, we will tell you about the origin of the dune, its flora and fauna features. We will also share legends associated with it.
