About this experience
The history of the four cities, twelve centuries of history, and a four-hour walking tour. A classic experience not to be missed when getting acquainted with the capital of the Czech Republic.
Old Town and New, Lesser Town and Hradcany. The four cities of Prague, once united in Great Prague. All of them are now included in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
Program
- The walk will start at your hotel. Depending on where it is located, we will begin our journey. It could be the New and Old Towns on the right bank of the Vltava, and then Hradcany and Lesser Town. Or we will start from the left bank: Hradcany and Lesser Town, and then New and Old Towns.
- What will we see during the excursion? I will mention the main highlights. Right-bank Prague - Wenceslas Square - a place of popular power. You will hear the truths and myths about the events of 1968. You will learn why Prague residents have been walking on marble sidewalks for two centuries. We will learn the Czech word 'pozor,' and I will explain how it is connected with Wenceslas Square.
- In the Old Town, we will be greeted by the famous Prague Orloj, or Prague Astronomical Clock. These clocks are 605 years old this year. The main square - Old Town Square - preserves the memory of the most significant events in Czech lands. In myths and legends, in house signs and spires of temples, the Great Prague will be revealed to us.
- On the left bank, in Hradcany, the main attractions are Loreto and the Cathedral of St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas, and St. Adalbert. We will also take a quick look at Golden Lane. If you visit in the spring-summer period, we will definitely take a stroll through the parks of Prague Castle and Lesser Town.
- If Hradcany has always been a place of state power, Lesser Town is called the guardian of intellectual and cultural values. The luxurious St. Nicholas Church in Lesser Town Square and the Jesuit College. The Church of Our Lady Victorious, where for several centuries the miraculous Infant Jesus - the Prague Infant Jesus - has resided.
- And finally, we will cross the beautiful Vltava River - the main river of the Czech Republic - over the famous Charles Bridge. The Majesty Charles Bridge has connected the banks of the Vltava for several centuries. A place where anyone can make their most cherished wish. We will need to buy tram tickets. At the same time, I will explain where to buy them and how to use public transport. During the tour, we will rest, take photos, and I will answer all your questions.
Any excursion, especially an individual one, is always a joint creation. You are the main characters and directors. I am always ready to create a route based on your wishes.
