About this experience
We will embark on a hunt for the mysterious stories of the Serbian capital, hidden in Terazije Square and Branko's Bridge, within the walls of Belgrade Fortress and the depths of the Roman Well. For a couple of hours, you will immerse yourself in Balkan ethnography and learn who was responsible for the vampire madness that raged in Europe in the 18th century. I will try to turn your perceptions of the undead upside down, tell you all about real vampires, and you might even get to give one a good scolding.
What to Expect
About Vampires and More
As you stroll through the evening streets, ancient Serbian legends, dark beliefs, and intriguing stories will come to life before you. For example, I will tell you why Alfred Hitchcock was thrilled with Belgrade and which Balkan movie is worth watching to get a real scare. You will learn how to resist the local dark force and why killing for a pitcher of water was necessary, understand Belgrade superstitions, and figure out if you can cross Branko's Bridge without getting your nerves tickled. And, of course, we will thoroughly discuss all the factors that contributed to the spread of vampire madness in enlightened Europe of the 18th century.
Mystical Chronicles of Belgrade
The most mysterious and enigmatic corners of Belgrade will serve as the backdrop for our spine-chilling walk. In Terazije Square, you will learn about the circumstances of a murder committed at the beginning of the 20th century at the site of the Balkan Hotel. You will hear the legends of Simina Street and understand why a certain place in the Serbian capital is called cursed. And at Belgrade Fortress, a whole kaleidoscope of mystical stories will unfold - tales of death in the Nebojša Tower, the legend-shrouded Roman Well, and the stone vampire residing here.
