About this experience
Why and how were the pyramids built? Who ruled Ancient Egypt? These are vast topics that I will explain in a clear and captivating way. In Saqqara, where there are few tourists, you will explore the world's first pyramids from outside and inside. Then you will move to the Giza Plateau and meet the great pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, as well as come face to face with the Sphinx. In the third part, you will visit the Cairo Museum — from statues and golden masterpieces to mummies.
What to Expect
Saqqara: Mysteries of Necropolises in the Desert
From Cairo, our first stop will be Saqqara, to the world's first pyramid — Djoser’s (stepped). We will explore the entire complex: halls with columns, the remains of the temple of 'T,' restored monumental gates. Nearby awaits the pyramid of Unas: here we will talk about mysterious funerary texts.
Ancient Megalopolis Memphis (optional for an additional fee)
And of course, we will visit Egypt's first capital. You will learn about the foundation of this city by Pharaoh Menes and see the sights: huge statues of Ramesses II, an alabaster sphinx, and a table for animal mummification.
Giza Complex: Encounter with a Wonder of the World
In the next part of the excursion, we will visit the pyramids of Giza. You will hear the most curious facts about them: how they were built, what is inside, and for what purpose. You will see the tomb of the architect — the 'author' of the pyramids and admire the statue of the Great Sphinx. Carved from a monolithic limestone rock, it will impress you with its expressiveness and grand dimensions.
Cairo Museum: Main Artifacts out of 120 Thousand
Many ancient treasures found during excavations in Egypt are kept here, in the country's largest museum and the whole of Africa. You will learn about the history of the collection and see its priceless exhibits. The head of Queen Hatshepsut's statue, the first female pharaoh; painted limestone statues of Prince Rahotep and his wife; treasures from Tutankhamun's tomb, shining in gold; mummies, including animals; jewelry, sandals, vessels — step by step in the museum, you will better understand the life of Ancient Egypt.
