This small but unique museum is an extraordinary jewel box of masterpieces amidst a huge park on the Pincho hill. With me, you will immerse yourself in the enchanting world of art, get acquainted with the works of Antonio Canova and Caravaggio, be fascinated by a series of brilliant creations - from Raphael to Titian. You will see and learn the history of the famous sculptures by Bernini.
What to expect
The entire villa is a unified ensemble, where architecture, marble and fresco decoration, sculptures, and paintings live in constant historical and iconographic interaction. Before us is not a residence in its usual sense, but a treasury. Its owner - Cardinal Scipione Borghese - cordially invites us to partake of the treasures of Antiquity, the Renaissance, and the Baroque era.
During the tour, we will delve deeper into the history of Gian Lorenzo Bernini's sculptures as the main representative of the Baroque:
- The Rape of Proserpina
- David
- Apollo and Daphne
- Aeneas, Anchises, and Ascanius
Organizational details
- If you cancel the tour, unfortunately, we will not be able to refund the prepayment, as the cost includes non-refundable tickets to the Borghese Gallery
- Large bags, umbrellas, tripods, drinking water, and other liquids are not allowed in the gallery. Items can be left in the storage room.
- The Borghese Gallery is closed on December 25 and January 1
- Until June 19, 2024, the second floor of the Borghese Gallery (Pinacoteca) will be closed due to restoration work
