About this experience
This sightseeing tour-walk will introduce you not only to the history and beautiful places of the city, but also to off-the-beaten-path corners and legends. We have designed two routes - 'Left Lisbon' and 'Right Lisbon', each of which passes through historical districts of different eras. You choose one (or both), and we will make your acquaintance with the city exciting and meaningful!
What to expect
To make the walk not too long and tiring, we conditionally divided Lisbon into 'right' and 'left'. You can choose one of the routes, and if you feel up for both - we will be happy to offer a comprehensive city tour!
1. 'Left Lisbon' - The districts of Alfama and Mouraria. The history of Lisbon begins here. Narrow streets, medieval architecture, locals from the old days. We will talk about the life of the natives, their traditions, and habits. This route includes:
- The most photogenic viewpoint Porta do Sol
- Street art, through which we will trace the history of the city
- The oldest house in Lisbon, celebrating its 500th anniversary this year
- Cherry liqueur from local entrepreneurs
- Main square of Lisbon - Praça do Comércio
- And much more
2. 'Right Lisbon' - The districts of Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto. This is also the historical center, but the architecture here dates back to the 18th century. Quarters where the aristocracy and bohemia once lived, and the first fashionable cafes and shops opened. This route includes:
- Church of São Domingo, where the Portuguese inquisition originated
- The legendary Portuguese dessert - pastel de nata
- The oldest liqueur store in the city, pouring Portuguese cherry liqueur since 1840
- Skip-the-line ascent on the Santa Justa Lift to enjoy the city from above
- A coffee shop where the Portuguese bohemia spent their evenings
