Elite Istanbul: from Ottoman luxury to expensive Turkish present
About this experience
My tour is dedicated to the city beyond the tourist attractions. You will visit prestigious neighborhoods on both sides of the strait and see panoramas that have not always been accessible to the general public. Luxurious architecture, designer shopping, fashionable Bosphorus yachts, the life of the wealthy immigrant community, and Turkey through the eyes of its elite. This will be a completely different Istanbul, Istanbul in luxury!
What to expect
Nisantasi: a symbol of wealth and luxury on the European side of Istanbul
The most "series" and one of the most secular parts of the city. You will walk along the most expensive commercial rental street in Turkey, find yourself in the realm of brands, and see some of the most expensive restaurants in the country.
I will immerse you in the atmosphere of leisurely Istanbul, where instead of raising prices, it is customary to discuss where to go on the next trip - to Bodrum or Paris. In Nisantasi, you will learn about the architecture at the dawn of the establishment of the Turkish Republic and meet the house of the chief architect of that time, Vedat Tek.
Istanbul's Venice and Bosphorus panoramas
You will also discover an atmospheric place in the Arnavutkoy area with unique wooden architecture from the 19th-20th centuries. We will stroll along the promenade of the Bebek district, densely populated by yacht owners and major businesses. Here we will have coffee with a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus. And we will talk about the life of that part of the local society that begins and ends the day with such inspiring landscapes.
Asian side: Ottoman heritage and modern elite area
We will drive across the second Bosphorus Bridge to the eastern part of Istanbul, admire the coast lined with villas - the most expensive real estate in the city. Let's look at another symbol of wealth, but from the Ottoman period - the Kucuksu Palace. The luxury of sultanic life in the 19th century, enchanting landscapes, and cool photos - in this part of the tour.
The end of the journey will be in Suadiye - one of the most prestigious residential areas in Istanbul. Affluent public, good restaurants, sunlit promenade and picturesque panorama of the Princes' Islands. I will tell you about the city residents who proudly call themselves Kemalists, and why one of the most European-minded parts of society lives here.
