About this experience
Torrevieja is a vibrant, friendly, and very colorful city that I love with all my heart. Together we will stroll through the historic center and explore its postcards: the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the Old Tower, and the 19th-century casino in Moorish style. And then we will head to the coast, where I will treat you to the best regional wine and traditional tapas.
What to expect
I will tell you the story of Torrevieja's development from a small village to a beautiful thriving city. I will reveal the role played by the earthquake of 1829 in its fate. And how, thanks to the ideas of architect Larramendi, the outcome of the restoration work exceeded all expectations. I will also show you the most important and picturesque places of the city. The excursion program includes:
Old Casino. We will visit the magnificent mansion of the 19th century and admire its luxurious decoration. We will see the Moorish hall built by Andalusian masters. We will climb to the upper floors via the Marble staircase and enjoy the splendid view of the city.
Church of the Immaculate Conception. You will see the original image of the Virgin Mary that survived the earthquake and fire.
Torre del Moro Tower. I will show you the 16th-century tower that gave the city its name.
Vista Alegre Boulevard. While walking along it, you will see monuments to the musicians of Torrevieja.
Seaport and Marina. Here we will have a small friendly picnic with wine and tapas.
