About this experience
You will see all the iconic landmarks of the Old and New Center, learn how Nice transformed from an Italian to a French city, and forever changed the history of the Riviera. Additionally, I will reveal the connection between Nice and Mercedes cars, how much the locals earn and spend, which delicacies of Nice are worth tasting, and where to find the best seafood.
What to Expect
All the Splendor of the City
We will start the tour in the heart of Nice – at Place Massena, where I will talk about the innovative ideas of the Catalan sculptor Jaume Plensa. Next, you will stroll through the New City, immerse yourself in the modern dynamic atmosphere amidst the façade decorations of 'Belle Époque' buildings, and see the first Russian church in Western Europe. In the historic center, you will feel like you are in a small Italian town with inner courtyards, arcades, flower, and fish markets. Finally, explore the palaces of the early 20th century on the English Promenade and learn the fascinating legends and adventurous stories associated with them.
Getting Personal with Nice
I am always in search of new information, so you will only hear truly interesting facts about Nice: why it feels fresh in the Old Town even on the hottest day, how the Russian immigration began and how many 'White Emigres' France accepted, the connection between Nice and the imperial family, and what taxes the citizens pay. Additionally, I will gladly share the 'insider tips' of a local: where to start the morning with a real Italian cappuccino and a crispy croissant, have delicious pizza for lunch, enjoy a cocktail on a terrace with a wonderful view, and end the day with a dinner of the freshest seafood.
