About this experience
Cuba is a picturesque town on the slopes of Mount Shahdag. I invite you to visit it before it becomes a mass destination. You will explore two ancient mosques, Eastern domed baths from the 19th century, and a bridge built according to the project of the Russian tsar. Enjoy the gorges, waterfalls, and apple orchards. And also visit the Caucasian Jerusalem!
What to Expect
Cuba: history and nature
You will see the main attractions of Cuba. The tour program includes:
- Juma Mosque - the most important religious center in the northeastern part of the country. I will tell you who and when the mosque was built. And also decipher its architectural features.
- Sakina Khanum Mosque - together we will examine its original cornices, a large white metal dome, red brick walls, and windows in the form of semi-circular arches.
- Chukhur Hammam - an ancient bathhouse with a brick dome resembling a beehive. You will learn under what circumstances Alexander Dumas visited it.
- Carpet Factory - we will visit a factory where skilled artisans hand-weave the famous Azerbaijani carpets.
- Gudyalchai Bridge - you will walk on the bridge built over the mountain river of the same name in 1894.
- Krasnaya Sloboda Village - a place known as Caucasian Jerusalem. Since the 5th century, Mountain Jews have been living here. You will visit the synagogue and stroll through the cozy Nizami Park.
Around Cuba, there are many picturesque natural spots. Among them: the mystical mountain Beshbarmag, the Tengealty gorge, waterfalls, and an arched forest. If there is still energy left, we will definitely visit them.
