About this experience
This program is for active holiday lovers and mountain peak collectors. We will climb so high that the panorama of the whole of Crete and several seas will open up before us. What to expect
Timing and other details. Mount Timios Stavros is located in the central mountain range of Crete - Psiloritis, so the starting point of the hike can be reached from both the Heraklion and Rethymno regions. The one-way drive by car will take 1.5 to 2 hours. We ascend in 2.5-3.5 hours and descend much faster. Serious physical training is not required. The main thing is the absence of chronic diseases, a good condition, and a desire to take this route for the benefit of the soul and body.
Scenery and sensations. We move at a comfortable pace, with short breaks for rest and snacks. Along the way, we breathe in the mountain air and enjoy good company. From the summit, almost the entire Crete is visible: the southern Libyan Sea, the northern Aegean Sea, the western White Mountains, and the eastern Dikti Mountains. The breathtaking panorama leaves no one indifferent! Besides the landscapes, you will see a small church - the chapel of Timios Stavros, built from stones.
