Historic and Beautiful Buda
You will explore Buda's iconic landmarks - the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church in lush late Gothic style. Strolling through the streets of the Old Town, you will see the homes of the President and Prime Minister of Hungary. Next, stop at the once main square - the place of departures for campaigns, executions, pardons, and promulgation of laws. And in the courtyards of the Royal Palace, enjoy the summer garden where King Matthias and his wife, Neapolitan Princess Beatrice, loved to spend their morning hours.
Buda Yesterday and Today
Arriving at the castle gates, you will appreciate the full power and beauty of the Buda Castle and learn about the history of the citadel's creation. In addition, you will see the Chain Bridge, Gellert Hill, and the monument to Hungary's most mysterious king - Saint Stephen. You will also hear about the captivating events that have taken place in these locations from the founding of the country to the present day. The walk will end at Point Zero, where Hungary's main trade routes began.
