About this experience
The Heydar Aliyev Center is the hallmark of modern Baku. It's no wonder: it was designed by Zaha Hadid, the renowned architect of the 21st century, whose projects are easily recognizable for their unique style. We will not only admire it from the outside, but also go inside to explore the exhibitions. On the way to the Center, I will show you the main sights of the city and tell you about its development.
What to expect
Heydar Aliyev Center
Not every city is lucky enough to become a platform for Zaha Hadid's experiments. Baku became one, and the Heydar Aliyev Center emphasized the forward-thinking nature of the ancient city. I will tell you more about the architect's work, the building project, and take you inside. Here you will also find an observation deck with views of the sail-shaped Ritz-Carlton hotel and the Congress Hall.
Inside the cultural center
Among the permanent exhibitions are a museum dedicated to the life and work of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, exhibitions like "Pearls of Azerbaijan", "Live Life", "Mini-Azerbaijan" showcasing miniature replicas of the country's best historical and architectural landmarks, the "Doll in Art" exhibition, and a collection of vintage cars. Temporary exhibitions also take place in the center. I will introduce you to the exhibits and through them - to the history and culture of Baku.
On the way to the Center, you will see the main attractions along the route:
- Neftchilar Avenue (without stopping). Along it, you will find the historical building of the Government House, modern hotels like Hilton Baku, Marriott Absheron, Crescent Bay, the newest shopping centers, and Freedom Square.
- Baku - White City (with a photo stop). The only project in the world being implemented in an environmentally regenerated industrial zone. To date, almost 100 modern buildings have been constructed here, along with public art objects and sculptures.
