About this experience
Luxor is a true gem of Egypt. It will undoubtedly impress you, as the beauty of this ancient city has been admired for over a thousand years before our era! You will visit the Luxor and Karnak Temples, explore the Valley of the Pharaohs, make a wish to the scarab beetle, and on the next day at dawn, ascend into the sky in a large hot air balloon and enjoy the views of Luxor from above.
What to Expect
Day 1
- First, we will visit the 'City of the Living', where the world-famous Luxor and Karnak Temples are located, once united by the Sphinx Alley into a single ensemble. You will visit the columned hall of Pharaoh Seti I with 134 columns, painted from top to bottom with colorful reliefs.
- South of the temple there is a small lake, on the shore of which stands a huge granite scarab beetle, considered sacred in Egypt. We will definitely approach it. According to legend, it grants wishes.
- Then we will take a boat to the other side of the Nile to the 'City of the Dead', where the famous Valley of the Pharaohs is located (about 40 tombs in total). It was here that Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered.
- We will visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and take a look at the stone workshop. You can optionally take a boat tour to Banana Island. After that, a hearty lunch awaits you in a restaurant (buffet) and check-in at the hotel.
Day 2
The next day at 4 am, you will be picked up from the hotel in Luxor and taken to the West Bank. Then - briefing (unfortunately, only in English, French, or Arabic), the exciting process of inflating the balloon, and finally, permission from the pilot to board the basket. Next - takeoff and a 50-minute flight over the sights of Luxor, all its temples and tombs, as well as over small villages in the surrounding area.
To impress the participants, the ascent into the sky is usually timed to coincide with the sunrise, so unforgettable emotions are guaranteed! After the flight, you will receive an aeronaut certificate. Then we will have breakfast at the hotel and head back to Hurghada.
Organizational Details
- Price includes: transfer in a comfortable Mercedes car, Russian-speaking guide, lunch (excluding drinks), all entrance tickets, accommodation in a double room in a 3* hotel, and a hot air balloon flight
- Drinks at the restaurant, a tour to Banana Island, photo and video shooting during the hot air balloon flight are paid separately (if desired)
- When going on the tour, do not forget about clothing with long sleeves, a head covering, and a water bottle. The sun here is merciless, and there is almost nowhere to hide. We also recommend taking small Egyptian pound bills, a sweater or light jacket, sunglasses and sunscreen, and breakfast from the hotel.
