All Roads Lead to Rome
About this experience
My main goal is to change your perception of a classic tour in 4 hours, introduce you to the main objects of my beloved Rome, present its history vividly, colorfully, and unconventionally. You will immerse yourself in different eras of the city, make a wish at the Trevi Fountain, see the legendary Colosseum and the exquisite sculptures by Bernini, and most importantly, fall in love with Rome during our friendly walk!
What to Expect
The Evolution of Rome from Antiquity to Modernity
During the tour, I will tell you all the most interesting and important things from the history of Rome, without overloading you with dates and names. You will trace the development of the great empire and the cradle of civilization, learn how the first banks and markets appeared. We will walk through the labyrinth of streets, visit the Insula (ancient housing for the poor), see the Roman college, and talk about the daily life of Romans in different eras: what they ate, where they lived, and what they did.
Unconventional Introduction to Landmarks
We will take the best 'architectural ingredients' from the first pages of Roman guidebooks and create our own image of the Eternal City! We will get acquainted with the architectural objects of Rome in a light and relaxed manner, sometimes stopping for a cup of coffee. You will see the landmarks without which Rome cannot be imagined, the ones featured in movies and books:
- Colosseum, built for bloody spectacles at the dawn of our era
- Arch of Constantine, dedicated to the emperor who united the Roman Empire and legalized Christianity
- Roman Forum – the center of the city's political, commercial, and religious life
- Capitoline Hill and Michelangelo's staircase leading to the Capitoline
- Piazza Venezia and Venezia Palace, from whose balcony Mussolini spoke
- Church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, where the relics of the revered Saint Catherine of Siena are kept, as well as Michelangelo's work
- the majestic Pantheon – the first pagan temple consecrated as a church
- Piazza Navona with the stunning Four Rivers Fountain by Bernini
- the street Via del Corso with countless shops and restaurants
- Trevi Fountain, which locals call the 'fountain of wishes'
- the famous Spanish Steps leading to the elegant Boat Fountain by Bernini
