Adventure on the Eiffel Tower. A city from a height for children and adults
About this experience
Everyone has seen the Eiffel Tower at least in pictures, but what do we know about this architectural gem of Paris? How many amazing details are hidden from our eyes, how many stories does it remember! You will ascend to the observation deck of the Paris beauty and learn all its secrets: was it always considered beautiful, how many times it was attempted to be sold, how often it is 'dressed up', and much more. And at the same time, enjoy the most breathtaking view of Paris and hear the main urban legends about the city's landmarks, shrouded in mystery for centuries.
What to expect
You will skip the line to the Eiffel Tower in the company of a real connoisseur of the city.
Engineering marvel
During the ascent to the tower, you will learn why it was built and how ingenious this construction was for its time. Also, imagine how the Eiffel Tower could have looked if a completely different project had been adopted. Architects suggested various fanciful forms: from a citadel of stone to a guillotine tower! I will tell you what colors the Paris beauty was dressed in, how many light bulbs adorn it, and how many tons of paint are needed for its restoration.
Tower in history
We will look at the Eiffel Tower through the eyes not only of people of the 21st century but also of Parisians who did not accept the architectural decision of the Pompidou Center and the glass pyramid of the Louvre at the time. You will learn what light drawings the hallmark of Paris tried on, if people parachuted from it, and how it managed to survive World War II and multiple attempts by scammers to sell it.
Views of Paris and city legends
From the tower's height, you will see the old suburb of Paris - Mars Field, where military reviews and parades were held, and the Invalides. You will find out who was called 'invalids' and what is special about Napoleon's Sarcophagus, hear the legends of Montmartre and the history of Saint Denis of Paris, and see the three largest cathedrals of the city - Notre Dame, Sacré-Cœur, and Saint Denis. You will decide for yourself which Parisian stories to believe and enjoy the rare pleasure of beholding the triumphal arches of the capital, from which the main arterial streets of Paris diverge, where its pulse beats.
