About this experience
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia, named after the wife of English King William IV. This city is famous for its festivals and Victorian charm - as if a piece of 19th century London was teleported to a distant continent. Unlike the foggy capital of Albion, Adelaide is vibrant, hot, and surrounded by green gardens and parks that lead to the ocean. Here, the stone vaults of Victorian buildings coexist with wild corners of nature, and it's worth seeing to better understand Australia.
What to Expect
Victorian Decorations
Constructed with Victorian patterns, the city still bears the marks of that time, despite being today a bustling business center of South Australia. You will see the Town Hall - the residence of the state governor, the famous monumental Adelaide Post Office, the main Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier, and the city library. Colonial style, wide roads, and lattice development - that's the historical center of the city. Adelaide is also home to the Migration Museum of Australia, where you will learn how migrants, including those from the Russian Empire, settled in new territories on the other side of the world.
Beauty All Around
The city has long been known for its huge flower beds: Adelaide boasts over a hundred varieties of roses that add a delightful fragrance. The well-groomed center of Adelaide is surrounded by parks, which we will also visit. I will take you to the Botanic Garden where you will see wild cockatoos and other parrots in the trees, and ibises roaming below. We will visit the Art Gallery and admire sculptures by Rodin, copies of famous paintings, and original works by Asian artists. I will tell you how modern residents of Adelaide spend their leisure time in nature around the city, and you will probably want to follow their lead - exploring the incredibly picturesque landscapes of South Australia, just like the English once did.
