About this experience
You are in for a comprehensive sightseeing tour of the Chonburi province without long transfers. The places we will visit will impress not only adults but also children, so feel free to come with the whole family! You will visit oyster and pineapple farms, climb the 'Sky Bridge', explore an ancient temple, make a wish, and discover the dark side of Buddhism.
What to Expect
- Our program will start with a visit to the 40-meter-long by 3-meter-wide glass 'Sky Bridge', which offers a picturesque view of one of the most beautiful temples in the kingdom - Wat Hong Thong, the promenade, and the surroundings.
- Then we will visit a pineapple farm, where you will see how different fruits are grown and taste freshly picked pineapples.
- Next stop is the Grand Canyon. It used to be a quarry, which is now filled with water. The view from here is incredible, so get your cameras ready!
- We will then head to the Red Dragon Temple, built in the early 18th century. This place leaves a strong impression from the first steps on its territory. At the gate, you will be greeted by a golden fountain with dragons, pavilions resembling pagodas, columns and incense burners with dragon figures. A little further, you will see a drum and a big bell, and a bit further - the temple itself. Inside, it is entirely covered with wall paintings, carpets on the floor, Buddha statues on each floor, goddess Guan Yin, places for worship and offerings. If you wish, you can make a wish by striking the large bell. If you're lucky, you will witness a ritual of driving away evil spirits with firecrackers.
- Just ten minutes from the temple is an oyster farm, where we will recharge a bit of energy by tasting raw or cooked oysters prepared in various ways. The guide will tell you about the history of such farms in Thailand and introduce you to oyster breeding technology.
- Next, we will visit the Garden of Hell's Tortures Wang Saen Suk. You will see the dark side of Buddhism and learn what specific type of torture awaits people for certain sins after death. This enormous garden is sure to give you goosebumps and make you reflect on your behavior.
- We will then visit the stupa, or otherwise the incredible white Phra Maha Chedi Wat Saen Suk Temple. You will learn about the origin of such structures and their modern purpose. The guide will introduce you to the theme of Buddhism and the history of Buddha's life.
- Before the last stop, we will have a full and delicious lunch and head to the Khao Kheow Open Zoo. It is called so because there are almost no cages in it, and the animals live in natural conditions separated from people by water channels. In just over 2 hours, we will walk through the main part of the park and stop briefly so you can observe the animals. You will see primates jumping in trees, binturongs and sloths resting on branches, Asian rhinos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, tapirs, numerous types of cloven-hoofed animals, countless birds, and other beasts.
