About this experience
Egypt's history is not limited to the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza. I suggest exploring the lesser-known but equally fascinating sites of Saqqara, Memphis, and Dahshur! You will see unique pyramids: the Bent, the Step, and the Red. Uncover the secrets of the Book of the Dead, visit the archaeological museum, and expand your understanding of ancient Egyptian civilization.
What to Expect
Saqqara: Immersion in the Past
Saqqara is a giant ancient necropolis in the Western Desert. Here you will visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser, built in the 27th century BC and the first pyramid in Egyptian history. Decode the texts from the Book of the Dead on the walls of Pharaoh Unas' pyramid and admire the reliefs decorating the tomb of Princess Idut. Additionally, we will visit the Imhotep Museum, where you will see interesting archaeological finds from Saqqara.
Memphis and Dahshur
In Dahshur, you will explore two pyramids of Pharaoh Sneferu: the Bent and the Red. I will share their history and explain the origins of their names. Finally, we will head to the ancient city of Memphis — Egypt's first capital. Wander through the ruins surrounded by palm groves, see the grand statues of Ramses II, the partially ruined temple of Ptah, and a special table for the mummification of animals.
