About this experience
You will stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Town and learn about the events and legends hidden behind the beautiful facades of its medieval houses. I will tell you about extraordinary personalities who shaped Zurich's history and show you places that many locals are unaware of.
What to expect
Zurich through the ages
Our walk will start at Paradeplatz square, from where we will head to the heart of the Old Town - Munsterhof square with its most beautiful Guild houses and Fraumunster cathedral. I will tell you about the first bank and hotel in Zurich and show you St. Peter's church. I will also share stories about the city's patron saints and how women ruled Zurich.
Secrets of Niederdorf district
Wandering through the narrow cobblestone streets, you will learn what happened here 500 years ago and how those events influenced the character of Zurich's residents. The old bridge will lead us to another part of the Old Town - Niederdorf district. Here you will enter Grossmunster cathedral and discover the hidden messages in its magnificent stained glass windows.
Unexplored Zurich
I will reveal not only popular but also unusual facts about Zurich. For example, you will learn about its connection to Dadaism, where Lenin lived, how he secretly left to lead the revolution in Russia, and why an ancient observatory is hidden in the city center. And finally, I will share valuable tips from a local resident: how to navigate the city, where else to visit, and where to have a delicious lunch.
