About this experience
The magical Lucerne is rightfully considered a tourist hotspot in Switzerland. You will discover cozy squares with fountains, houses adorned with ancient frescoes, and elegant churches. Take a stroll along the ancient wooden bridge, admire the paintings and architecture, learn about the history of Lucerne, and understand how it achieved such beauty and grandeur.
What to expect
Lakeside walk
One of Lucerne's main attractions is the lake located in the city center and surrounded by a dense ring of snow-capped mountains. You will walk along the promenade and cross the Chapel Bridge, the most famous wooden bridge. Since 1365, it served as a defensive structure. We will definitely see the monument of the 'Dying Lion' - a reminder of Switzerland's wartime glory: I will tell you in honor of what events it was installed. Exploring the ancient churches, you will learn why Lucerne became the main Catholic city in the country.
Alleyway labyrinth
Perhaps the city's streets can claim to be the coziest and most atmospheric: the historic center is replete with buildings from the 12-18 centuries. Their facades are adorned with bright original frescoes. Buildings in the Renaissance and Baroque style harmoniously coexist with modern buildings. The first pharmacy and brewery, the inconspicuous Knight's Palace where the canton administration is located, the Arsenal building housing the Historical Museum, the Opera House - these and many other attractions will meet us on the way. You will understand how Lucerne transformed from a fishing village into a trading and economic center of the region - and forever be charmed by the allure of this Swiss town.
