About this experience
The Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris is a national museum of modern art, and for children (and especially adults) it is no less exciting than Disneyland. No one perceives art as easily as children with their open view of things and boundless imagination. And adults can keep up too! Together with little travelers, you will immerse yourself in the works of famous artists and various types of painting, graphic techniques, and methods that will help you look at the world in a new way. Come, it will be interesting!
What to Expect
A Bit About the History of 20th Century Art
In the 20th century, many new avant-garde movements emerged in art, whose representatives experimented and sought new ways of creatively expressing their ideas, thoughts, and invented images. I will introduce you and your children to the masterpieces of the brightest representatives of the world avant-garde and contemporary art such as Picasso, Modigliani, Chagall, Matisse, Kandinsky, Pollock, Warhol, and others. Together we will delve into their works and try to answer the questions of what and why they did, and most importantly - how.
Creating Like an Artist
In pursuit of innovation, artists invented various techniques. We will talk about what:
- collage and decollage;
- assemblage and frottage;
- readymade and accumulation;
- shooting, mechanical writing, and much more.
Behind these incomprehensible terms are very well-known, fun, and accessible techniques for creating pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works.
With children, we will arm ourselves with a pencil and paper and try some of them on the spot in the museum. The rest will definitely come in handy for creativity at home!
