About this experience
Bali is an island of incredible beauty, and I want to introduce you to its amazing nature and historical heritage. You will see the most picturesque rice terraces in the world, visit Lake Bratan, and uncover the secret of eternal youth. You will also visit several ancient temples, including Tanah Lot - the most important for the Balinese.
What to Expect
- Our journey will start with a visit to the most beautiful rice terraces in the world - Jatiluwih. They will amaze you with their intricacy! You will also enjoy the breathtaking view of the rice fields on the mountainside.
- We will visit the coffee plantations and observe how the most expensive coffee in the world - Luwak - is produced. You will taste different varieties and can buy your favorite in the shop.
- Next, we will visit Pura Ulun Danu Temple at an altitude of about 1200 meters above sea level. We will admire the pagodas with typical multi-tiered roofs. Nearby is Lake Bratan, which determines the fertility of the border lands and the development of agriculture. I will tell you whom it is dedicated to and what interesting beliefs are associated with it.
- We will have lunch at a local restaurant on the shore overlooking Lake Bratan.
- Then we will head to a place called Mengwi, where you can expand your knowledge about Hindu temples. You will see Taman Ayun Temple, built in 1634 to worship the god Vishnu.
- The final stop is at Tanah Lot Temple, one of the most important temples for the Balinese. It is situated on top of a rock, which during high tide is surrounded by the turbulent waters of the ocean. It is especially beautiful at sunset when the intricate outlines of the temple are pierced by the last rays of the sun.
