About this experience
Join me for a rollerblading adventure along the avenues and boulevards of Paris! These weekly rollerblading tours are beloved by locals and attract thousands of participants. I will guide you along the route and introduce you to numerous Parisian landmarks along the way. Get ready to see Paris from a unique perspective only available to asphalt birds - rollerbladers. See you there!
What to Expect
Skate along with Parisian rollerbladers!
You'll become part of a true French roller mess for speed and wind-in-your-hair enthusiasts! Our tour will allow you to explore the city while speeding along the streets - and completely safely! Streets are closed off during the tours, and a police escort accompanies the column of participants. I will guide you on where to rent skates, provide assistance on challenging parts of the route (such as uphill climbs, descents, cobblestones), and share interesting facts about the landmarks we pass by!
Discover the city's main attractions
During the three-hour tour, you'll see a vast number of Parisian landmarks, learn their history, and hear fascinating facts about the city.
- We'll start from Bastille Square, where the famous prison and elephant where Gavroche slept once stood, and now the July Column and Opera Tower rise.
- We'll ride along the Arsenal Canal, see yacht moorings and pleasure boats, cross the Seine via the Austerlitz Bridge.
- You'll learn about the notable features of the Salpetriere Hospital, ride past the Zoo, and near the famous Santa Prison whose high walls enclose a whole neighborhood, we'll talk about its infamous inmates.
- After a rest at Nations Square, you'll experience an exhilarating descent down the long, gently sloping Pyrenees Street - sharp thrills guaranteed!
- Wrapping up the circuit, we'll zoom past the lion fountain and Rey Park, where you can try the carbonated water from the wall spring.
Who Should Join This Tour
This tour is suitable for confident rollerbladers: you must be able to independently navigate, turn, and brake on skates! The Friday tour takes place in the evening amidst Paris sparkling with lights, demanding a confident roller level, while the Sunday one starts during the day, being more leisurely and suitable for beginners.
Organizational Details
- You can choose either of the two days for the tour: Sunday midday (easier) or Friday late evening (more challenging).
- We skate only in good weather - wheels slip on wet asphalt! So, check the forecast: I usually check the weather for Paris on Yandex; it's rarely wrong.
