About this experience
I invite you to take a run along the cobblestone streets and embankments of Paris - enjoying the movement, marveling at the kaleidoscope of urban landscapes, learning about the sights seen in photographs, and exploring new horizons! We will set off from the threshold of your hotel along a route specially designed for you, including famous Parisian landmarks and legendary embankments, where the most beautiful marathon in the world runs.
What to Expect
I will tell you about all the architectural and historical monuments that we will encounter on our way - and, of course, take photos of you in front of them - in flight, in beautiful running gear: something to boast about in social networks!
Of course, I will gladly share my sports experience with you on the run, if you desire - but my main goal is to introduce you to Paris in its best light: the way we, runners, see it.
What Your Route Might Include
I customize each route individually. Below is a sample program of our running tour:
Champs Elysées and Pont des Arts - this viaduct used to be a railway line, now beneath the spans of the brick bridge are workshops and galleries of artists.
Faubourg Saint-Antoine - the street where the musketeers set off in search of suspensions for the queen, now it houses numerous furniture stores, a legacy of the historical craftsmanship of the district's residents.
Place des Vosges - the king lived in this mansion, the queen opposite, on the corner - Victor Hugo, too many to list... but this magnificent building is called 'Marquise', after the title of Madam de Sévigné who was born there, about whom I will tell you a little more.
Seine River Banks, where you will try to guess how many bridges cross the Seine within Paris and be surprised to discover that geographically, it's not really the Seine.
Quai Henri IV, where the Paris Marathon route passes through, from here - all the way to the Bois de Boulogne, this is the most picturesque part of it, but by no means the easiest.
Île Saint-Louis - the most expensive apartments in the capital, a nesting place for the highest clergy and plastic surgeons. At the far end of the island - the ice cream parlor Le Flore en l'Ile: the most famous and universally acknowledged as the most delicious in the city. No, you will return there after the run, we are not finished yet!
Île de la Cité - the cradle boat of Lutetia. How many islands are there on the Seine? Passing by the apse and buttresses of Notre Dame, by the Hôtel Dieu, the oldest hospital in Paris - we will take a quick peek into the inner courtyard, admire its magnificent corridors.
Pont au Double, where Porthos met and recruited Planchet, d'Artagnan's servant: remember by what distinctive feature?
Quai Saint-Bernard, where in the evenings on the semicircular platforms by the water, people dance tango, salsa, Breton folk dances - be sure to visit!
Well, here we are; just eight kilometers, but how much we have seen! Running on trips is the right choice: never forget to pack your sneakers!
Who is the Tour For
- If you are a beginner runner - nothing to worry about: I will adapt to any level and offer a comfortable pace for you.
- If you are an advanced athlete and do not want to miss a workout on your business trip, we will run at a more brisk pace - while still not forgetting the minimum cultural briefing about the route's landmarks.
