About this experience
A friendly evening stroll through Rome by car is the perfect way to effortlessly explore the city's most distant corners, including the Aventine Hill and Vatican, Colosseum and Spanish Steps, Via Veneto and Pincho Hill.
What to Expect
- We will meet you near the Colosseum, the iconic symbol of Rome, like the Eiffel Tower for Paris, the Statue of Liberty for New York, and Big Ben for London. I will tell you the history of the Colosseum and share many interesting facts and legends associated with it.
- Then we will head to the Aventine Hill - an oasis of elegance, tranquility, and greenery. At the foot of the hill lies the famous rose garden, where hundreds of different varieties of roses from around the world will delight us not only with their beauty but also with their fragrance.
- Passing the rose garden, we will climb to the "Holy Keyhole" - a name coined by the Italians, as through it you can see three states at once! Further on, we will visit the Savello Gardens with orange trees, maritime pines, oleanders, and an unforgettable viewpoint - a favorite spot for photographers, couples in love, and wedding processions. Of course, we will bring a camera with us to capture the breathtaking view.
- Next, we will drive past the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, where the covered gallery houses the "Mouth of Truth", shrouded in centuries-old secrets and legends.
- Our next stop will be at Piazza Venezia, one of the central squares, where, according to Italians themselves, "you can feel the heartbeat of Rome." I will share interesting facts about the palaces built on this square, we will see where the house of the brilliant Michelangelo was located, and the last will left by the Master.
- To experience the diversity of the evening city, we will drive along Via Veneto with its luxurious hotels, shops, exquisite restaurants, and cafes, where we will see a piece of the "sweet life" from Federico Fellini's film.
- A tour of Rome would be incomplete without visiting the favorite spot of filmmakers, designers, and lovers - the Spanish Steps, "the most beautiful staircase in Europe," according to leading architecture experts. It connects two friendly and related courtyards - French and Spanish. And here we are on Pincho Hill, overlooking Rome spread out before us. The view from here is breathtaking!
- Our path will then lead along the illuminated waterfront, past hundreds of lights and the light of the setting sky. We will pass by the Christian shrine - St. Peter's Basilica, and climb the picturesque serpentine road to the Janiculum Hill, where Saint Apostle Peter was crucified.
Organizational Details
- As the Roman government restricts car access to the city center once a month, there may be rare occasions when the tour date needs to be rescheduled
- The tour follows a specific route, starting near the Colosseum
- Upon request, we can arrange a transfer from any point in the city center to our meeting point - 30 euros
