About this experience
We will take a walk through one of the most beautiful areas of Cologne - Deutz. Over its 2000-year history, it has experienced decline, prosperity, destruction, and restoration, but its history is different from that of Cologne. On the right bank of the Rhine, the Deutz district is called the 'wrong side' in contrast to the 'correctness' of the center. And that's exactly why it's so attractive!
What to expect
- Triangle Building - the second tallest in Cologne after Cologne Cathedral, from the observation deck (height 103 m) we will enjoy a magnificent panorama of the city
- Ruins of Deutz fortress (in Roman times - Divitia). It served as a fortified military garrison to ensure the safety of the right bank from the attacks of wild Germans.
- Monument to Deutzer goat Duxer Bock, the legend of which consists of two parts: it begins with discord and ends with a happy ending
- Cult pub 'Lommi', revered as the most Cologne of all Cologne pubs. Many plausible and not so plausible stories are associated with it
- Turntable for turning around locomotives from the 19th century
- 'Gray Bus' - a tragic reminder of the Nazi 'T4' operation aimed at the mass extermination of people with physical and mental disabilities
- Monument to the first internal combustion engine, invented by engineer Otto and playing a huge role in the development of German automotive engineering
