About this experience
Georgia is all about hospitality, feasting, wine, songs, and dances. During the New Year and Christmas time, multiply the colorfulness of national traditions by two. Add to this mix the anticipation of miracles and magical mood. I will immerse you in the festive atmosphere, take you to the elegant places of Tbilisi, and tell you how Georgians celebrate New Year and Christmas.
What to Expect
- We will meet in the very center of the city - Freedom Square, where a huge Christmas tree with garlands is traditionally installed
- We will take a walk along the festive illuminated Rustaveli Avenue
- We will meet Tovlis Babua - the Georgian Santa Claus and see the main city Christmas tree near the Parliament building
- In the festive New Year village at Orbeliani Square, we will warm up with hot mulled wine made from Georgian wine, admire the products of local craftsmen, and enjoy musical and theatrical shows
You will learn:
- How many Christmas trees are usually decorated in Georgian homes
- What dishes are prepared for the festive table
- How the Georgian feast - supra - is organized
- What movies are watched and what songs are sung by Georgians in these festive days
