About this experience
Schönbrunn is the summer residence of the emperors, a palace complex with a delightful park, and one of the favorite relaxation spots of the royals. Most tourists content themselves with climbing the Gloriette and admiring the main fountain. I suggest exploring all the charming corners of this park and learning more about the imperial family, as well as the oldest zoo in Europe, mazes, and much more.
What to Expect
Schönbrunn History and Viennese Strudel Show
Since 1996, the Schönbrunn Palace and Park have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and every year the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra offers a free concert here. During the tour, you will hear the story of the palace construction, learn why the palace complex is called Schönbrunn, hear about the musical duel between Mozart and Salieri that took place here. Our main topic of discussion will be the rule of the only woman who led Austria – Maria Theresa! And after the walk, you can visit the strudel show, where all the secrets of preparing Austrians' favorite dessert will be revealed.
Additional Option: Visit to Schönbrunn Palace
Upon request, it is possible to expand the tour and visit the Schönbrunn Palace itself. When booking a tour with a visit to the palace, please indicate which option you prefer:
- Option 1: View the most beautiful palace rooms (22 rooms) and transport yourself to the time of Maria Theresa's rule in the 18th century.
- Option 2: See all available tourist rooms (40 rooms). Then you will see slightly ascetically furnished rooms from the time of the penultimate emperor's rule – Franz Joseph.
For families with children, there is an option to visit the children's museum in the palace, where you will learn about the traditions and hygiene of the 18th century: how they cleaned teeth, washed laundry, dressed, and much more. This tour is usually interesting not only for young travelers :)
