I want to call the Latin Quarter the most majestic district of the French capital. And here’s why: Sainte-Geneviève, Panthéon, Sorbonne, Luxembourg Gardens, the Saint-Michel Fountain, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Palais de Justice, Sainte-Chapelle, Saint-Louis Island, Place Dauphine, and much more... These are all key attractions of Paris, and they are all located in or near this quarter, and during the walk, I will tell you about the history of the district, as well as the most important and interesting events that have taken place here over the years.
France's Pride - Sorbonne
You will see the French temple of knowledge, which is the heart of the Latin Quarter, named so because in the medieval period all schools in this district exclusively taught in Latin. On Boulevard Saint-Michel, you will inspect the preserved traces of the Romans in the form of the Cluny Baths. You will walk through narrow ancient streets and shady parks where Ernest Hemingway, who lived in the Latin Quarter in the 1920s, used to stroll after long hours of working on his works. It was here that he wrote, "Paris is a party that is always with you."
