About this experience
This will be a long and rich trip to the historical treasures of Luxor. In a group of up to 35 people, you will visit the majestic temple of the goddess Hathor in Dendera, and in Luxor - you will uncover the secrets of the City of the Living and the City of the Dead. You will also take a boat ride on the Nile and optionally visit Banana Island.
What to Expect
Temple of the goddess Hathor in Dendera
This powerful goddess, the daughter of the sun deity, was particularly revered by women. You will appreciate the amazing architecture of the complex and observe the paintings and reliefs, and in one of the sanctuaries, you will see the famous zodiacal calendar, which is believed to indicate pivotal moments in human history.
Historical landmarks of Luxor
Afterwards, we will move to Luxor. Here, in addition to a buffet lunch and a boat ride on the magnificent Nile River, you will encounter:
- City of the Living. You will visit the Karnak Temple, one of the most monumental in Egypt, the construction of which spanned a couple of thousand years. You will stroll along the Sacred Lake and meet the statue of the scarab beetle.
- City of the Dead. Before you will stand the Colossi of Memnon - statues towering 20 meters high and weighing 700 tons. And then at the famous rock complex of Hatshepsut, you will admire the colorful depictions showcasing scenes from the life of this queen - this place alone is worth a visit to Luxor.
At the end of the tour, optionally for an extra charge, you can visit Banana Island and admire the groves of banana trees and sugarcane plantations.
Additionally, during the excursion, you will also visit an alabaster factory where you can purchase interesting souvenirs.
