Discover the secrets of Balinese cuisine at a master class with a professional chef. In the authentic setting of a village near Ubud, you will prepare several snacks and main dishes. Visit the local market and learn to distinguish fresh products. You will also visit the perfect coffee plantation and try the drink "fresh off the roaster". And to top it off, you will stroll through the green rice fields surrounded by a palm forest.
What to Expect
Culinary master class
Let's start this delightful day by visiting the local market to find ingredients for the master class. After getting everything we need, we will head to the authentic village of Laplapan near Ubud. Here you will be greeted by a professional Balinese chef who will guide you to prepare 3 appetizers, 4 main dishes, and dessert. Now it's time for the most enjoyable part - a communal meal and tasting of your creations. Mmm, delicious!
Perfect coffee at the plantations
Next stop on the itinerary is a coffee plantation nearby. The average air temperature here is +24, and the plantation is located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level, allowing the cultivation of the "right" coffee. You will walk through the green fields and see the process of making the drink from green sprout to roasting the beans. And enjoy a cup of aromatic coffee surrounded by a tropical forest.
Rice terraces
Our gastronomic tour will conclude at the picturesque rice terraces of Tegallalang. This is definitely a must-see place in Bali! You will learn about the preparation and harvesting of the crops, and see rice in its raw plant form. The tiered green terraces spread on the hill slopes amidst the palm forest will serve as perfect backdrops for photos.
Organizational Details
- The culinary master class is led by a chef for 15 people, so you will be cooking with participants from other groups (individual class can be booked, details inquire in correspondence).
- You can cook both meat and vegetarian dishes
- The master class is conducted in English, but there will be a Russian-speaking guide with you
- No extra expenses are foreseen
Where the Tour Starts
- The price includes transfers from Ubud, Kuta, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Denpasar, Canggu, Jimbaran, Seminyak (round trip)
- An additional $25 is charged for transfers from Uluwatu and back
- Transfers for Amed and Lovina regions are not possible
