I invite you to a rich walk full of stories and flavors through the authentic Istanbul, away from the tourist crowds. Immerse yourself in the vibrant life of Kadıköy, enjoy traditional dishes and drinks, take stylish photos, and see the city through the eyes of locals.
What to expect
Istanbul Unfiltered
We will take a ferry across the Bosphorus Strait from the European to the Asian part of the city. At the pier, we'll grab a couple of Istanbul simit bagels to feed the seagulls on the way and take cool photos. On the other side awaits the old district of Kadıköy: plenty of antique shops, galleries, boutiques with handmade goods, and designer clothes. We will enjoy a walk along the waterfront and reach the bohemian, artist-favorite Moda street. From here, you can see the European side of Istanbul and the Princes' Islands.
What, where, and how they eat in Istanbul
My guided tour is gastronomic, which means you will not only get acquainted with the color and life of Kadıköy but also taste it. We will not settle for the traditional street food that you can enjoy on other days without me. I will reveal to you the secret tastes of authentic Turkish cuisine.
- For example, you will try the delicious Beyran soup. I am sure you will remember it as a separate attraction of Istanbul. And also hünkâr beğendi — a dish that in the past was served exclusively to the sultan and his family;
- At the local market, I will teach you to choose the most delicious olives and authentic eastern spices;
- You will walk through a street of bars, where the atmosphere of fun reigns, especially in the evening. You will taste the best coffee in Asian Istanbul or something stronger if desired;
- Along the way, we will be tasting various mezes, salads, and desserts, as well as enjoying plenty of Turkish tea!
