What to Expect
Corsican Charm
From Porto Cervo, we'll take a ferry to Corsica, to the ancient fortress town of Bonifacio, built in the early 9th century. The town's port looks like it's from a postcard, and the historic center is a true maze of narrow streets and tiny squares. We'll explore the 16th-century Genoese fortifications, stroll through the Old Town, and visit the maritime cemetery—the most beautiful in Europe.
You will learn:
- Where the lodging of Charles V and Napoleon was located
- Why Corsicans have a strained relationship with the French
- Where, according to legend, the young Bonaparte became a man
And much more!
Corsican Cuisine
The choice of dining location is yours—there are hundreds of cozy restaurants in the city serving traditional seafood and meat dishes. Seafood lovers should try moules a la bonifacienne—mussels in a white sauce.
After lunch, you'll have about an hour of free time to stroll along the picturesque waterfront with its numerous boutiques and souvenir shops.
