Discover the heart of Sestri Levante
The enchanting Ligurian resort town of Sestri Levante is embraced by two picturesque bays - of Silence (Baia del Silenzio) and of Fables (Baia delle). I will tell you the origin of these poetic names during the walk. We will leisurely stroll through the narrow streets of the city, talk about its history, admire the colorful facades, and of course, visit the key attractions - from Durazzo-Pallavicini Palace and the aristocratic Villa Brignole-Balbi to the famous church of Santo Stefano del Ponte. You will feel the tranquility of Sestri Levante, taste the renowned Ligurian focaccia, and after getting to know the town, you can enjoy the sun on one of the few sandy beaches in Liguria.
Trek to Punta Manara cape
If you prefer an active vacation over a beach holiday, we will continue exploring the surroundings of Sestri Levante during a trek to the picturesque Punta Manara cape. The paved road will lead us up, winding between charming houses, villas, gardens, orchards, fruit plantations, and olive groves. Step by step, you will be amazed by the breathtaking landscapes of Liguria, and at the final point, you will enjoy panoramic views of the sea and the entire city, as if made for photographs.
Organizational details
- The most convenient way to get from Genoa to Sestri Levante is by train. Transportation expenses are not included in the cost of the excursion.
- The excursion is on foot, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. In summer, it is also advisable to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
- No physical preparation is required for the trek to Punta Manara cape: it is suitable even for children.
