About this experience
Hue is the ancient capital of Vietnam. The best architects of the country have worked on its architectural appearance for centuries. You will stroll through the 19th-century Imperial City with oriental palaces, parks, ponds, and exotic trees. You will see the seven-story pagoda, visit the royal tombs, and an unusual Catholic temple. And we will share the rich history of these amazing places.
What to Expect
Imperial Citadel - the hallmark of Hue. This giant 19th-century complex is surrounded by a fortress wall. Members of the imperial family lived, worked, and spent time here. You will see perfectly preserved palaces, bridges, temples, and ceremonial pavilions. You will hear their history and uncover the architectural features.
Thien Mu Pagoda - you will appreciate the elegant seven-tiered pagoda, picturesquely located on a high hill. We will tell you to whom it is dedicated and under what circumstances it was built.
Royal Tombs - we will show you several tombs of the emperors of the Nguyen dynasty and explain why they differ so much in style and interior decoration from each other.
Phu Cam Cathedral - a Roman Catholic church built in 1965 using the latest architectural concepts of that time. You will find out exactly which ones on the tour.
