About this experience
It's more enjoyable and interesting to explore the multifaceted Barcelona from the saddle of a bicycle. Cycling through it is already a pleasure! Listening to engaging stories about its inhabitants is even better. We will slow down at the modernist palaces and on the narrow streets of the Old Town. We'll try to decipher the code of the Sagrada Familia. And on the waterfront, we'll play tag with the breeze and admire colorful street art.
What to Expect
- We will start our journey from the Gothic Quarter, where Barcelona was born. You will learn how Catalonia joined Spain and why everyone started to fear the Spanish Inquisition. I will tell you how a professional executioner appeared in the city and how witches were sought.
- Then we will visit the modernist Barcelona. We will ride along the most expensive Passeig de Gràcia with its colorful palaces designed by famous architects. We will examine the works of Gaudi (Casa Mila and Batllo), Lluis Domenech i Montaner, Josep Puig i Cadafalch. I will share fascinating business stories related to the constructions on this street.
- We will reach the unique Sagrada Familia and try to decipher every bright detail of this amazing temple. Construction has been ongoing for several centuries, with more spires piercing the sky each year, making Gaudi's architectural masterpiece always appear new.
- We will descend to the sea and breathe the fresh salty air. I will talk about the Olympic Games that completely transformed the city. At the end of the walk, we will leisurely ride along the boardwalk, adorned by renowned street art masters.
