During the break, we will visit a local horchateria where you can taste hot chocolate with traditional donuts.
What to Expect
Modern Valencia
The tour starts in the port area where you will see the Formula 1 track, beaches, and the picturesque El Cabanyal district, which was once a small fishing village. Then, explore the most modern part of the city - Valencia of the 21st century. Visit the City of Arts and Sciences - a futuristic scientific-entertainment complex designed by the famous Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava. Along the way, I will share the idea behind the structures, the purpose of the buildings, and their construction history.
Architectural Landmarks
You will see the largest park in Spain - Turia, medieval bridges, intersecting streets, and the Mestalla Stadium where Valencia CF plays. Drive through the bourgeois and elegant Eixample district, where the atmosphere and architecture of the houses resemble the center of Paris. Additionally, the tour includes the Columbus Market - a charming modernist building; a bullfighting ring, the Main Post Office, City Hall, and Valencia's North Train Station.
Historic Center
Strolling leisurely through the streets of the Old Town, you will visit the bustling central market where I will talk about the gastronomic brands of Spain and Valencia, and you will be able to taste some of the famous products. I will introduce you to the history of the center's key landmarks and the legends of this ancient city. Upon your request, it is possible to visit the cathedral where the famous relic - the Holy Grail Chalice, recognized by the Catholic Church as a genuine relic, is kept. From the Miguelete bell tower or the medieval Serrano gates, you will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the surroundings.
Midway through the tour, we can visit a traditional horchateria where you will try the traditional drink 'horchata' or, during the cool winter months, hot chocolate with delicious 'bunuelos' donuts!
