About this experience
Three hours from Almaty and you find yourself in an amazing place where everything strongly resembles the canonical landscapes of the Grand Canyon in the USA. Millions of years ago there was a sea here, and then the elements and geological processes did their job, giving us these fabulous landscapes. Our driver will take you to the best viewpoints of the three canyons, where you will enjoy the views and be able to take out-of-this-world photos.
What to Expect
You will see the Charyn Canyon from different angles, walk along a picturesque route at the bottom of the canyon to the Charyn River and take unforgettable photos of its whimsical forms. You will explore the most spectacular part of the canyon from above - the Valley of Castles. The sheer cliffs here look like columns, arches, and towers of fairy-tale castles. Then, visit the Black and Lunar Canyons - they are part of the Charyn ensemble but stand out separately as places with unique relief and appearance.

10:00 - 12:00 walk at the bottom of the Charyn Canyon, time for photos
12:00 - 13:30 exploration of the canyon from the top, visit to viewing platforms overlooking the Valley of Castles
13:00 - 14:30 lunch at a cafe
14:30 - 15:00 drive to the Black Canyon
15:00 - 15:30 exploring the canyon, time for photos
15:30 - 16:00 drive to the Lunar Canyon

Organizational Details
- After making a deposit on the website, the remaining cost of the excursion must be paid by bank transfer to a Russian card at least 48 hours before the trip begins (you will receive the details after booking)
- Included in the price: transfer by car with a professional driver, first aid kit
- Additional expenses: entrance fees (eco-fees) - 1000 tenge per person, cash only; food - you can bring your own or have lunch at a cafe at the Charyn Canyon
- The trip does not involve extensive storytelling from the driver-guide. He will show you the maximum, but the main goal is to enjoy the natural locations, take photos, and videos.
