About this experience
In Naples, nations, traditions, sounds, and smells from all over the Mediterranean and beyond have mixed over its 3000-year history. This city is a true feast a la Lucullus. It's no coincidence that one of the villas of the famous Roman commander Lucullus was located here. We will walk through the colorful quarters of the city. You will taste local delicacies, while I will tell you about the history and cuisine of the Campania region.
What to Expect
Pignasecca Quarter
This is one of the old market districts of the city. Fish and vegetable stalls against the backdrop of laundry hanging in residential buildings resemble old Neapolitan films. The only thing missing here is a pregnant Sofia Loren. Everything else is in its place!
Spaccanapoli Street
Since the Greek period, this street has been considered one of the main streets. It will amaze you with magnificent temples and aristocratic palaces. Family crests can still be found on the gates, and Renaissance period frescoes are visible through the windows. You will see the main sanctuaries of the city - the Church of Jesus and the Santa Chiara Monastery.
And most importantly - tastings
At different points on our route - at the market, in a cafe, a pastry shop - you will try local cult delicacies:
- Memoirable rum baba
- Unique Buffalo mozzarella (only authentic in the Campania region)
- The Majesty pizza Margherita
- A glass of red or white wine
- And finally, perhaps the most delicious coffee in the world
I will tell you:
- How to store mozzarella properly
- How Neapolitans drink coffee
- How to correctly choose pasta and sauce, as only tourists order 'spaghetti Bolognese'
