About this experience
Have you ever heard of the River of Nine Dragons? Known worldwide as the Mekong River, during our journey you will understand the meaning of its true name. I will help you explore in detail the life of Vietnamese peasants, observe floating farms and sand mining, taste traditional coconut treats, and get acquainted with authentic crafts. The essence of Southern Vietnam will be revealed here - among the jungles and narrow river channels that we will navigate on a fast junk.
What to Expect
Untouched nature, traditions, and culture of Southern Vietnam
We will travel from Saigon to the Mekong, admiring the famous rice fields and picturesque views of Vietnamese nature. I will tell you about the differences in life and culture of different provinces of the country, share observations and interesting facts from Vietnamese history. You will learn how modern Vietnamese people organize their lives, what they live on, and what problems they face in everyday life. And then visit an ancient Buddhist temple, where you will get acquainted with the intricacies of the religion of Southern Vietnam.
Authentic life of Vietnamese peasants
We will explore the Delta of the River of Nine Dragons along a little-known route - a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the local color and beauty of nature without haste. You will sail along the upper branch of the Mekong River, observing the life of Vietnamese people: you will see how locals grow fish in floating fish farms, extract sand from the river bottom, breed crocodiles and pythons. Take a walk through the fruit orchards and treat yourself to homemade sweets and tea with honey. You will glimpse the traditional village life and local crafts from the inside.
